Subject: [Sociology_of_Islam] Report on the Arab knowledge scene: a silent revolution
Friends, Colleagues, Comrades,
After two years of intense, collaborative labor, I am happy to announce that the first report on social sciences in the Arab World is finally out. The report documents a silent revolution that has been taking place in Arab knowledge over the past three decades. It explores the characteristics of social sciences in professional environments as well as in the public sphere, with chapters on universities, research centers, professional societies, Arab scholarly periodicals, civil society organizations, newspapers, television programs, cultural periodicals, and popular magazines.
Below is a link to the Arabic original, available for a free download through the Arab Council for the Social Sciences. English and French versions are forthcoming soon on the same site.

I hope you find it useful.
